The fruity Gin & Jam is a three ingredient cocktail that uses only one spirit. The perfect dinner party drink!
Who doesn't love a simple cocktail? Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Gin & Jam combins gin, jam and lemon juice. The sweetness of the jam perfectly balances the tartness of the lemon and the juniper notes of the gin, creating a refreshing and flavorful drink.
The beauty of this cocktail lies in its versatility. You can use any type of jam you like - from classic strawberry to more exotic options like fig or apricot - to create a unique and personalized flavor profile. Adding jam to cocktails can have a number of benefits beyond just adding flavor. The sugar content in jam can help balance out the tartness of citrus juices or the bitterness of some spirits. Jams can also add a silky texture to cocktails, making them more smooth and enjoyable to drink. Additionally, jams are a great way to use up leftover fruit or preserve seasonal flavors for use in cocktails throughout the year.
I love this cocktail for dinner parties, or entertaining. It's quick to make and can be created in larger batches. The fruity but delicate flavour combination and can complement a variety of appetizers and main dishes so you can enjoy it throughout the night.
This drink is more like a template - once you understand the ratios, you can swap different ingredients and spirits as you like. I've included some of my favourite combinations in the notes of the recipe.
