Turmeric Porridge

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tsp Natvia natural sweetener
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp coconut yoghurt (, to serve)
  • Fruits and nuts (, to serve)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine rolled oats, chia seeds, water and milk. Heat over a medium heat and stir continually.
  2. As oats and chia seeds begin to soak up the liquid, add Natvia, vanilla, turmeric and cinnamon. Cook for approximately 5-8 minutes, stirring constantly until the porridge has thickened.
  3. Pour into two bowls. Enjoy hot or cold. Before serving, top with coconut yoghurt, fruit and nuts.
