New York Sour

The lesser-known New York Sour, made on whiskey, with a red wine float on top.

Ingredients

  • 60 mL bourbon
  • 15 mL sugar syrup
  • 30 mL lemon juice
  • Dash aromatic bitters
  • 15 mL red wine
  • Lemon twist to garnish

Instructions

  • In the base of a cocktail shaker, add bourbon, sugar syrup, lemon juice and bitters. Shake to chill - approximately 12-15 seconds. 
  • Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  • Pour red wine over the back of a bar spoon to float on top. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
