Brisbane Eats: Jan Powers Farmers Markets

A slightly cool, overcast Wednesday, with nothing to do other than slave over my laptop. My sister drove up to my place this morning and we decided to make a trip into the city to browse the farmers markets.

Not only is fresh produce a fraction of the price you would pay in supermarkets, but the variety is vast as well. We bought more dragon fruit, avocados, fresh figs, custard apples and strawberries plus dined on some delicious dishes of seafood paella, mango juice, sautéed garlic mushrooms with avocado and cous cous and raw cane frappes.

My housemate is a yank, and onion bagels are one of her many weaknesses. There’s a fantastic stall with a large selection of bagels among other delectable delights like german sausages, cakes, popcorn, organic honey, macarons…. I’m hungry again.
