Green Pea Hummus

You know what’s great about peas?

They are shit cheap.

Green Pea Hummus
Serves 2

1 cup of frozen peas
1/4 cup fresh coriander
2 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 small clove of minced garlic
1/8 tsp ground cumin

Boil a pot of water on the stove and add the peas. Cook until tender, then drain and rinse under cold water. Add the coriander, tahini, lemon juice, garlic and cumin and pulse with a hand held blender for about 30 seconds. Season with some salt and serve on bread, crackers or with fresh veges.


Tahini is ground, hulled sesame seeds. Think peanut butter, only made with sesame. It’s quite cheap, about $4.50 a jar in most grocery stores and can used as an ingredient in many recipes, as a replacement for butter, dressings for salads or sauce on sweet or savoury foods.
